Analysis

Iru Mugan Movie Review

The first half of Iru Mugan has been decent and interesting throughout. The performance by Vikram has been mind blowing which takes the film to the next unreachable level. The performance and the glamour by Nayanthara is a treat for the audience and the songs have been shot well. The pre-interval episodes catch the pace and the interval bang has been completely surprising. On the whole the first half of Iru Mugan is a treat for the audience.

The second half of Iru Mugan dips down badly as the film lacks interesting plot. The major plot has been dragged too much and the narration lacks interest. The songs act as barriers and the performance by Vikram along with the cinematography is the only saviour for the second half of Iru Mugan. The climax has been completely simple and predictable. On the whole the second half of Iru Mugan has nothing new to offer and it kills the flavour of the movie.

Performance

Vikram who is known for his outstanding performances delivered out one more terrific performance as Love. He has been outstanding and he impressed the audience as Akhil too. Nayanthara has been glamorous as Meera and she has been extremely beautiful. Nithya Menen has been supportive and she did a decent job. All the other actors have done a decent job and Iru Mugan has a batch of power packed performers.

The basic plot of Iru Mugan has been decent and interesting which is related to drug mafia. The screenplay should have been tight enough during the second half and the dialogues have been decent. The cinematography is the major highlight of Iru Mugan and the music has been apt. The background score has been convincing and the editing has been sharp. The production values have been grand enough and the director failed to impress the audience big time with an interesting plot because of the poor narration.

Final Word

Vikram excels in dual role once again in Iru Mugan which fails to impress the audience big time. A film that misses the target.
