NFC eases super market queues

Use your mobile to shop!! NFC mobile applications help many do their shopping without the hassles of searching the product details and need not stand in long queues for payments.

The Mobile World Congress (MWC) at Barcelona which commenced on 27th Feb concluded on Thursday. The MWC exhibited the latest and greatest in mobile phone technology. The massive four-day expo in Barcelona features everything from handsets to tablets, apps to accessories - giving plenty of pointers to the "next big thing". Huge names such as Sony Mobile, HTC, Nokia, Panasonic and Samsung have all used MWC 2012 to reveal hot new products.

But the highlight in the application department was revealed by mobile application developer Near Field Communications (NFC). NFC to mobile world is getting proximity on a day to day basis. More and more mobile manufacturers are bundling the application to their products. In fact at the MWC, major handset manufacturers have announced the launch of NFC phones with about 10 mobile NFC phones scheduled to be launched in 2012. NFC is a touch based technology using which users can tap their mobile phone onto another NFC enabled device such as a mobile phone or a NFC tag to access information.

Now as per the company the recent application which is going to benefit most smart phone users is a simple aid that eases your shopping experience. Just walk into a super market with your NFC mobile phone and tap the various products you wish to purchase. With every tap, you get information on the product such as its calorie content, health benefits, suitability for children, price compared to competitor products etc. Once you’ve decided whether you wish to purchase a product you simply press a button on your mobile to add it to your cart. In the similar manner you move across the store tapping the products you wish to purchase making informed decisions on your purchase and also being able to control your budget as you shop.
There is no longer a need for you to pay by queuing up at the check-out counter instead you can pay for your purchase using your NFC phone on the way out.  You can choose between several delivery options such as instant delivery at a given pick up point, next day home delivery etc. hope you would agree that this an easy and convenient way of getting your shopping done, without any hassle.

The basic problem with online sales is that you don’t get the look and feel of the product. But through this application, one does not lose the opportunity of window shopping or find the freshness in farm produce, with the convenience of escaping the long serpentine queues at the super market.
