Eat your way to healthy hair

Losing too much hair lately. Probably a lack of hair nutrition is to blame. Hair growth come and goes in cycles. If you missed meals or did not have proper nutrition, it will affect hair growth and strength over an extended period. For example, a lack of nutritious diet will cause copious hair loss after a few months. Thankfully, the situation can be reversed with a change in diet patterns.

To gain the most out of your food with regard to hair, make sure to include foods rich in Vitamin D, E and C. These work towards providing that well needed strength to your hair. Some of the most important food items that aid hair growth are fish, walnuts, eggs and green leafy vegetables. These are easy to include in the diet on an everyday basis, not to mention easily available.

Fish containing dishes have plenty of essential oils that are nutritious for the body as a whole. Other meat containing foods like chicken also share similarities with fish in that they contain a lot of protein. A protein rich diet promotes hair gorwth.

Walnuts contain Vitamin E and omega-3 fatty acids that protect and shield the hair from the harmful effects of the sun. It also has certain minerals, which when present in sufficient amounts, prevent hair loss.

Eggs also have lots of protein, besides minerals including iron, sulfur, selenium and zinc. Iron deficiency leads to anemia, which in turn is detrimental to the hair. Green leafy vegetables are also loaded with proteins and minerals.

So, go ahead and feed the hair.
