North Carolina communities offer Christmas tree recycling!

Several communities around North Carolina are offering ways to recycle your Christmas trees.

According to the News & Observer report, many communities around the Triangle that pick up yard waste will collect the trees from the curb. Trees must be stripped of decorations.

People in rural areas can also take their trees to solid waste centers in Johnston, Durham, Orange, Chatham and Wake Counties.

There is a similar mix of curbside pickup in Greensboro and High Point as well as drop-offs at the Guilford County Farm in Gibsonville.

According to the Buncombe County, Asheville residents can get curbside pickup, but there are also drop-offs at the county landfill and yard waste facility.

To the east, Fayetteville has curbside pickups on January 9, and those outside the city can also drop them off at the Fayetteville Community Garden. There are also four dropoff locations in the New Hanover County.
