“It’s Ok to take a Knee” Says Triangle schools

NFL players and coaches kneeling and locking arms during National Anthem is creating huge buzz across the nation, same scene is expected to happen locally.

Durham Public school is not stopping its students and athletes from kneeling down during the National Anthem. On Tuesday school has released a statement saying the national anthem will be played and the district will honor the athletes’ decision to stand or kneel.

School leaders said that similar demonstrations will be allowed in Middle school games and high school games in Cumberland Durham.

This protest was started by former football player Colin Kaepernick against police brutality and racial discrimination.

Kyle Walker said that this issue has become too political, "I think it needs to be left out of it, let’s continue to worship our flag."
