LinkedIn has introduced a new artificial intelligence feature aimed at simplifying the process of finding optimal job positions. The professional networking site, headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, unveiled this AI job search tool in the United States earlier this month and is now extending its reach to international users, including those in India. This innovative tool allows professionals to input their desired job role using natural language, after which it will locate and present relevant job listings. It's important to note that this new AI functionality is exclusively available for LinkedIn Premium subscribers.

In a recent press announcement, the company detailed how this feature can assist professionals in their job search. LinkedIn referenced a survey it conducted which revealed that 60 percent of individuals in Bengaluru face difficulties in identifying appropriate job titles and industries, even when they are looking for new opportunities. Furthermore, the survey pointed out that among the primary indicators of career development, one major aspect professionals consider is the alignment of a job with their skills and ambitions.

Acknowledging this challenge, LinkedIn has created an AI-enhanced tool designed to facilitate the search for the perfect job. With this tool, users can express their job preferences in straightforward language. For example, a software engineer at the beginning of their career could simply enter, “hybrid or remote full-stack software developer positions in Bengaluru,” and the AI will generate results that fulfill these criteria.

LinkedIn asserts that this new job search feature removes the reliance on keyword searches that may overlook the user's true intentions, leading to an overwhelming number of irrelevant listings. Users will benefit from avoiding the tedious task of manually sifting through numerous pages to find suitable opportunities. “The AI-driven job search aims to enhance relevance in job discovery, empowering professionals to make informed career transitions,” the company stated. At present, access to this AI job search tool is limited to LinkedIn Premium members. The subscription costs Rs. 499 per month, providing access to additional features such as AI resources for interview preparation and career planning tools.
