Google AI Plus has been introduced in India by the technology company as its newest and most budget-friendly subscription option, the firm revealed on Wednesday. Before this, the company from Mountain View provided only two subscriptions for individual users: Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra, in addition to a free plan. The Google AI Plus plan includes extra benefits, giving users access to Nano Banana Pro, which is supported by the advanced Gemini 3 Pro model. It also offers subscribers 200 AI credits each month, which can be used for creating videos and content on the Flow and Whisk applications. The Google AI Plus plan provides “improved” access to the powerful Gemini 3 Pro model in the Gemini app. Its cost is set at Rs. 199 monthly for the first six months, after which it will change to Rs. 399 a month. Users will have increased limits for using other AI tools, like Deep Research. The Nano Banana Pro, supported by Gemini 3 Pro, will assist users in generating and editing text-based images. Additionally, subscribers will get 200 AI credits each month for the Whisk and Flow apps, which use the Veo 3.1 Fast AI model for video and content creation.

With Google's new AI Plus plan, users will have access to NotebookLM's Audio Overviews tool, along with a research and writing assistant. It's important to mention that free users only have access to the research and writing tools. Another feature in this plan is the integration of Gemini's AI features into Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Vids. In addition, users will receive 200GB of cloud storage for Google Photos, Google Drive, and Gmail. In contrast, the free tier provides only 15GB of cloud storage and has lower usage thresholds for the Gemini 2.5 Flash and Gemini 3 Pro models. Furthermore, the company gives only 100 AI credits monthly for the previously mentioned video creation apps. The pricier Google AI Pro and AI Ultra plans are priced at Rs. 1,950 per month and Rs. 24,500 per month, respectively. The Pro plan offers 1,000 AI credits, while the Ultra tier provides 25,000 AI credits for video creation. These plans also come with Gemini Code assist and Gemini CLI access, along with 2TB and 30TB of cloud storage, respectively.

This plan will rival OpenAI's ChatGPT Go subscription, which costs Rs. 399 per month. While both provide similar features, OpenAI does not include cloud storage for its users. Launched in India in August, the ChatGPT Go tier also offers “Extended Access” to its most advanced GPT-5 AI model, along with increased limits for image creation, file uploads, and data analysis tools. It should be noted that ChatGPT Go is currently available for free in India.
