Maharashtra Crisis: Supreme Court Issues Notices to Rebel MLAs

The Maharashtra political crisis has taken several ugly turns and the issue reached the Supreme Court of India. A bench with justices Surya Kant and JB Padiwala revealed that they would not pass the order for the ongoing issue. But the top court issued notices to the rebel MLAs and asked the government of Maharashtra to ensure proper protection for the rebel MLAs or the citizens. The government promised to protect the 39 rebel MLAs, their families and their properties. Supreme Court also extended the time till July 12th. The final cut-off time given by the Deputy Speaker to the rebel MLAs has been extended till July 11th and 5:30 PM.

The Supreme Court also issued notices to the Shiv Sena leaders Ajay Chaudhary, Sunil Prabhu. The court asked them to file a reply in five days The notices are issued to the Deputy Speaker along with the Secretary of Maharashtra State Legislative Assembly. The Rebel MLAs too filed pleas against the disqualification notices that are issued by the Deputy Speaker Narhari Zirwal against Shinde and 15 rebels. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray redistributed the portfolios for the rebel MLAs. Maharashtra Minister Aaditya Thackeray says that they are confident on winning.
