When people talk about fitness in Bollywood, Akshay Kumar's name is usually mentioned first. He is recognized for his amazing self-discipline and has created his way of living based on steady habits instead of quick fixes. He avoids late nights, processed foods, and extreme diets—just reliable routines. While many actors undergo tough training to get ready for their roles, Akshay relies on natural methods, including fasting. During a recent book event, the famous actor shared one of his key habits that keeps him feeling lively and focused: a fast every week. “I skip all meals on Mondays. I have my last meal on Sunday night, and then I don’t eat again until Tuesday morning," he mentioned during the event according to reports. This simple yet effective practice showcases Akshay’s belief: maintaining health is about finding balance and replenishing the body. Instead of overloading his body with food all the time, he gives it a chance to rest, recover, and reset. At the same event, the actor from Housefull 5 talked about why he prefers to have his dinner early.

“It's essential to eat dinner at 6:30. At night, our eyes, legs, and hands relax—every part of our body takes a break. But if we eat late, our stomachs are still busy while we are sleeping. By morning, it also needs rest. Instead, we have breakfast right away, forcing it to work again,” Akshay explained. He then emphasized the link between digestion and overall health: “Most health issues start in the stomach. If you eat early, like at 6:30 pm, your food will be digested by bedtime. By 9 or 10 pm, your stomach can rest just like the rest of you. It’s straightforward, but it really helps,” he added.

Here are five benefits explained simply:

Provides Your Digestive System a Break: Your stomach is constantly active in breaking down your food. Taking a day off allows the digestive system to reboot, almost like a short vacation, enabling it to work better later on.

Promotes Natural Cleaning: When there is no food to digest, the body focuses its energy on cleaning itself. This process helps to get rid of harmful substances, making you feel lighter and rejuvenated. Many individuals also notice healthier skin and increased energy levels after a fasting period.

Develops Discipline and Control: We frequently eat due to habit or boredom. A complete day of fasting boosts your self-discipline, teaching you how to handle cravings and showing you that you don’t always need to snack.

Aids Weight Management: Fasting once a week won't lead to drastic weight loss, but it can help in controlling calorie consumption. When combined with physical activity and mindful eating on other days, it becomes a feasible approach for long-term weight management.

Enhances Concentration and Sleep Quality: When your body isn't focused on digesting large meals, energy is used more effectively. Following a fast, many find their thoughts are clearer, their focus sharper, and their sleep more restful.

Akshay Kumar demonstrates that sometimes the simplest habits, like eating earlier and allowing your body a break, are the ones that have the greatest impact. His way of life serves as a reminder that maintaining good health doesn’t have to be complicated, only consistent.
