Holi 2019: Tips to Protect Your Hair and Skin from Holi Colors March 15, 2019 18:56

Holi festival is just few days away and the majority of people would be dwelling on skin and hair plights that would appear consequently. Experts say using oil, sunscreen and lip balm is beneficial to keep body protected against effects of the harsh chemicals. Pre Holi Tips for Skin * Before playing Holi, it is very important to prepare your skin to make sure that the colors and sun do minimum damage to your skin as they contain chemicals. * Applying either almond, coconut or olive oil on the body as well as the face is the simplest way to protect skin. These oils act as a protective layer between your skin and the colors. Also, post-Holi, it will be easier for you to get rid of the colors.* One must apply a gel-based sunscreen to ensure protection from the harsh sun rays. It will get absorbed by the skin easily and as you have already applied a layer of oil, cream-based sunscreen may begin melting in the sun.* To protect the eyes, it is required to wear sunglasses and to simultaneously look trendy. * Choose lighter cotton fabrics as they will reflect the sun and keep you cool.* Don't forget to apply a lot of lip balm.Hair Care Tips for Holi * One should never forget to oil the hair before going out to play Holi.* Adding a few drops of lemon juice in the oil can help cut down infections arising in the scalp from chemicals present in the colors. Post Holi Tips for Skin * Washing off the dry color from the skin is very important by using baby oil or coconut oil for 5-10 minutes, particularly on parts of the body entrenched in colors. It then needs to be wiped off either with a damp cloth or a wet tissue.* It is advisable to avoid the use of soap or face wash as they are alkaline in nature, and applying them will only cause its drying. Indeed, home remedies such as a mix of besan, curd, turmeric, and honey should be used to clean face and body.* The harsh colors tend to take away the moisture from the skin and leave it feeling super dry and pissed off. Moisturizer will guarantee that your skin is well hydrated. Use it generously to remove roughness and make sure skin stays glowing.* Colors clog the pores and irritate them. All the dry and dead skin along with the clogged pores will turn up after the use of glow mask. The mask will restore freshness and nourish your skin.* If the colors are chemical-based, they get profoundly absorbed in the skin pores, and thus, it turns really tough to scrub them off. Exfoliate the entire body and give the care it needs with a de-tan coffee scrub in order to free skin from tan and restore original skin tone.Post Holi Tips for Hair* Since hair is most vulnerable to harm caused by the exposure to the chemical-based colors, therefore, it needs to be cleansed, which can be done by standing underneath running water for 10 minutes. Additionally, the scalp must also be mildly rubbed to loosen up the formation of clots blocking the pores.* To cleanse hair off Holi colors, one can also use a mild natural cleansing shampoo or baby shampoo because they are completely free of chemicals* A serum used after a hair wash can also help in rinsing off the colors of Holi. It has to be applied to your hair, and then be left to air dry.By Sowmya Sangam

The proposal has been mooted four times. In 2009, India under the UPA Government was the lone proposer. In 2016, India's proposal was co-sponsored by USA, France and UK In 2017, USA,UK and France moved the proposal,” she said in series of tweets. She mentioned that this time the resolution was moved by USA, France and United Kingdom and it was supported by 14 out of 15 members of UN Security Council.“In 2019, the proposal was moved by USA, France and UK and supported by 14 of the 15 UN Security Council Members and also co-sponsored by Australia, Bangladesh, Italy and Japan - non members of the Security Council,” she said. She added, “Thus, we have secured an unprecedented support from the international community for listing of Masood Azhar under the UN Sanctions Committee. Middle Order Players Haven’t Got Enough Opportunities : Anil Kumble March 15, 2019 18:44

Former India Test Captain and Head Coach Anil Kumble feels that team has done too much too much chopping and changing and trying to figure out the best player who fits in into that 4, 5 or 6 batting position. He said that MS Dhoni should come out to bat at number four in the world cup.Speaking to Cricket Next, Kumble said “If you look back at the last couple of years of success that the Indian team has had, it has been mainly due to the fact that the top three have performed consistently, and it still remains so. In a 50-over game, you want your top three to contribute. For me, I still believe MS Dhoni should bat at 4. (Numbers) 5, 6 and 7 is something that you need to start thinking about and that’s where I felt that there was too much chopping, changing and trying to figure out who will fit in into that 4, 5 or 6 in that middle order other than MS Dhoni. That to me has made it a little more unsettling for us, watching from outside.”He felt that middle order hasn’t been given enough opportunities going into the world Cup.“What if the top-3 don’t fire in an important game, say a semi-final or a final, then you need the back-ups to stand up and do it and that’s where I believe that the middle order hasn’t been given enough opportunities leading up to the World Cup and haven’t been consistent with the players that have been selected in that middle order,” he said.“Shikhar, Rohit or Virat, three of them performing consistently. So, I’d like to probably continue that and like I said, for me the top-4 will win you 70-80% of matches and ideally your top-4 need to have that quality and that’s why I’m keen that someone like MS Dhoni bats at 4 and manages the middle order, rather than coming in where he has to not just manage the middle order but also keep up with the run chase, that’s something I would want to see,” he addedBy Sai Kumar

The 60-year-old Delhi resident Amarjeet Singh has done something that people half his age will still be keeping as their wildest dream. The retired businessman has just completed a 33,000 km road trip from Delhi to London covering 33 countries in 150 days. Singh, who used to run a garments exporting business in Delhi retired from his family business and began his journey on 7th July 2018 from New Delhi on his 2013 model old Toyota Fortuner SUV and travelled 36,800 km across 30 countries, more than 150 cities in 131 days‬ and completed his trip in London on 16th December 2018. "I started from India to Nepal, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Poland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Sweden, Norway, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovenia, Slovakia, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Luxembourg, Monaco, France, Netherlands, Denmark and finally reached London," Singh explained. "It was in 1979 that I met a German couple who were backpacking in India. I was just 20 years old at that time. After hearing the story of how they traveled, even I wanted to travel the world. I and my friend wanted to go to Germany on a bike. But when I presented my idea to my father, it was immediately shot down. But my desire to travel the world never went away. After I retired from the family business and handed it over to my son, I had nothing constructive to do. So I thought, why not now?" Singh said. Since then, it took Singh almost three months for getting the necessary permissions and visas before setting off for the journey of life he dreamt of for 40 years to achieve. "Everyone in the family supported and encouraged me when I said I want to take a road trip to London. My wife was really happy, she said, this is something that you had in your mind for 40 years. You should do it. Even my son said, Dad, you don't have to worry about anything. You should pursue your dream," he said. Singh, who said he had visited most of the countries covered in his road trip for business or as a tourist, however, admitted that there were certain difficulties along the journey. "I am 60 years old and have most of the health issues around that age like BP and Diabetes. One of the first challenges that we had to face was the non-availability of European-style toilets. Starting from Nepal till almost Russia we had to face this. The next major challenge was regarding food. I am a vegetarian and finding food was a challenge, especially in the interior of China," he said. Singh, who also met a number of celebrities including Hollywood legend Arnold Schwarzenegger during his trip said it was a great learning experience, to meet new people from all walks of life.                      (Image source from: Indiatimes.com) "The biggest takeaway for me from my travel is getting to know more people and learn about their life. Contrary to what people think, from my experience, I can say that the world is full of good people, people who would go out of their way to help you, even if they don't understand a word you are saying. I have had people inviting me to their homes, where we stayed for days and enjoy their hospitality and love. One of the most memorable experiences I had was in Poland when a group of people whom we were staying with came to know that it was my wedding anniversary, they arranged a small celebration," Singh recalled. After reaching London, Singh said it felt surreal.                        (Image source from: Indiatimes.com) "I have been to London many times in the past on business trip. However, this one was special. But after reaching London, we couldn't somehow believe that we have come to the end of our journey. It still felt unbelievable," he said. Singh has set his sight next on to travel all the seven countries on his SUV and further said he also wants to send out a message, especially to the youngsters, to follow their passion, no matter how late they feel it is now to pursue the dream.
