Moto X70 Air with Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 Chipset Announced

The Moto X70 Air was revealed on Tuesday, just before its launch in China later this month. With this new smartphone, Motorola, owned by Lenovo, has joined other brands like Apple, Honor, Samsung, and Tecno in making very slim devices. The Moto X70 Air measures slightly less than 6mm in thickness. This phone is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chip and features a 4,800mAh battery. Although the Moto X70 Air will mainly be available in China, it is set to be released globally as the Motorola Edge 70. Currently, the Moto X70 Air is listed on Lenovo's website in China, but its price has not been shared yet. It will come in storage options of 256GB and 512GB, available in three colors that have been validated by Pantone: Gadget Grey, Lily Pad, and Bronze Green. The launch in China is scheduled for October 31, while it will be introduced in Europe on November 5 as the Motorola Edge 70.

The Moto X70 Air features a 6.7-inch 1.5K (1,220 x 2,712 pixels) pOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits. This display is said to be validated by Pantone and offers SGS eye care protection. The dimensions of the phone are 159.87 x 74.28 x 5.99mm and it weighs 159 grams. It has an IP68 + IP69 rating for being resistant to dust and water. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset, with options for up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It includes a 3D vapor chamber for better heat management and an Adreno GPU for handling demanding graphics tasks. The device operates on Android 16. For photography, the Moto X70 Air is set to have a triple rear camera system, led by a 50-megapixel main camera with a Samsung sensor along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. It will also offer a 50-megapixel front camera for taking selfies and making video calls.

In terms of connectivity, the Moto X70 Air supports 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth, OTG, and USB Type-C. Motorola has included a fingerprint sensor for security. The phone comes with a 4,800mAh battery that allows for 68W wired charging and 15W wireless charging.
