North Carolina Schools get prepared for absence of teachers

Chapel Hill, NC:
The County District officials, have not yet decided to close schools on May 16, as many educators were expected to join the protest, that was planned earlier, on Raleigh’s Halifax Mall to pressure up on the lawmakers for their raise of funds and better pays.

A chapter of North Carolina Association of Educators, President of Wake County, Paulette Leaven told reporters that, she is expecting a big crowd in support of the issue.

She added saying that, "The teachers that go from Wake County will have to take a personal day and that costs them $50 for every personal day they take,"

As of now, the schools in Durham and chapel Hill Carrboro City schools have decided to cancel all the scheduled classes on May 16. The authorities also said that, the day will have optional teacher work day,

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, which is known to be the second largest school district in the state.

As per the recent reports, on Thursday, more than 100 Chapel Hill Carrboro teachers had requested the day off, according to the statement of a district spokesman.
