The Maruti Victoris has been recently launched, and along with its launch, it was announced that it achieved a 5-star rating for safety in crash tests by Bharat NCAP, offering excellent protection for both adults and children. Global NCAP has also tested this model, and it received the same top safety rating of 5 stars in the Adult Occupant Protection and Child Occupant Protection tests. This makes it the second vehicle from Maruti, following the Dzire sedan, to earn full star ratings in both Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP.

Adult Occupant Protection:

Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test Score: 15.807 points
Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test: 15.913 points
Side Pole Impact Test: Pass

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the driver’s head, neck, thighs, feet, and left shin were rated as 'good', while the protection for the chest and right shin was marked as 'adequate.' In contrast, every part of the co-driver received a 'good' rating in the same test. During the side movable deformable barrier test, besides the driver’s chest, which was rated 'adequate', all other areas of the occupant were rated 'good'. In the side pole impact test, all parts of the passenger received 'good' safety ratings. Global NCAP also mentioned that the structure of the Victoris is stable and can handle additional stress.

Child Occupant Protection:

Dynamic Score: 24/24 Points
CRS Installation Score: 12/12 Points
Vehicle Assessment Score: 5/13 Points

Global NCAP noted that the CRS (child restraint system), attached to the ISOFIX anchors, provided complete frontal and side protection for both the 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies during impact tests. Both child seats for the dummies were positioned rearward, facing the seat. The Maruti Victoris includes all the safety features one would expect from a car in this category. Key features include 6 airbags as standard, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), front and back parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold. However, the standout feature is the introduction of level-2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), which is a first for Maruti vehicles in India. This set of features includes adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind spot detection, and forward collision avoidance assist.

The pricing for the Maruti Victoris is anticipated to be revealed around Diwali 2025, with an expected starting price of approximately Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). The Maruti Victoris will compete against models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, and VW Taigun.
