Realme has recently made a significant partnership with Ricoh, a company that specializes in camera gear. The company has shared that the soon-to-launch GT 8 Pro will showcase a camera system created in collaboration with Ricoh Imaging. This marks the first time Ricoh's famous GR series technology will be featured in a smartphone, bringing its well-known imaging capabilities to the GT 8 Pro. The phone will have a rear camera module that can be replaced. It will also include a powerful 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera and a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC.
The Realme GT 8 Pro, which is being developed alongside Ricoh Imaging, will introduce a new camera system that is aimed at delivering high-quality and versatile photography, as stated in a press announcement. It will boast a lens group with ultra-high transparency that is claimed to meet the optical standards of Ricoh GR, providing better anti-glare performance, clearer pictures, and less distortion. There will be a special Ricoh GR Mode on the smartphone, which will feature a quick-start interface, the familiar snap sound of the GR shutter, focus presets for Snap Mode, and two popular focal lengths: 28mm for wide street photography and 40mm for close-up, detailed shots.

The GT 8 Pro will include five Classic Ricoh GR Tones, including Standard, Positive Film, Negative Film, Monotone, and High-Contrast Black & White. According to the company, users can further tweak these tones with the Customised Tone feature, adjusting effects to fit their personal style. This option is seen to enable both casual users and photography fans to personalize their pictures while still achieving professional-quality results. Additional features will consist of GR-themed watermarks, dedicated albums with GR labels, and the capability to share tone settings with other users.
Realme has confirmed that the GT 8 Pro will come with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC and a 2K 10-bit LTPO BOE flat OLED screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz. It will also have a 200-megapixel 1/1.56-inch Samsung HP5 periscope telephoto camera. While the camera units will stay fixed, users can change the appearance and design of the camera area with various options designed by Ricoh. Teasers indicate that there will be at least three different designs, which may require tools to change due to tiny screws holding them in place.
The Realme GT 8 Pro is expected to feature a 50-megapixel 1/1.4-inch Sony LYT-808 main sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), and it may also have a 50-megapixel Samsung JN5 ultrawide lens. The device is likely to be powered by a 7,000mAh battery that supports 120W wired fast charging. It is expected to have an IP69 rating for dust and water protection, an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, along with improved haptics and enhanced speakers.
