North Carolina Father Murdered His Two Daughters

A father has been charged with the murders of his two daughters, a newborn and a toddler, after allegedly driving into the woods with them in a jealous rage on Friday, officers said.

30-year-old Tillman Freeman of Fayetteville, North Carolina, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder of 4-day-old Genesis Freeman and Serenity Freeman, 2, who were stabbed multiple times in a parked car in the woods off Army Road.

“It was horrific,” Sheriff Hubert Peterkin said, according to the Fayetteville Observer.

The girls were found around 2 a.m. Saturday and were fatally stabbed with what appeared to be hunting knife, he said.

Police arrested Freeman on Friday and initially charge him with child abuse, and child endangerment, after employees at a doctor’s office reported emergency service to report a man acting suspiciously outside the building.

Tillman Freeman accused his wife, Candice Freeman, of cheating and claimed that the girls were not his.

Candice had a doctor’s appointment at Cape Fear Medical Center Friday morning and had left the girls with their father.

When she returned back home, her husband was gone with the girls. Tillman said that he had dropped their children off at at someone’s home.

The frantic mother then immediately called the emergency service and reported that her daughters were missing. Officials searched the area knocked on doors, but the three were nowhere to be found.

After searching for hours, police made the grisly discovery Saturday morning in Hoke County.

The girl’s aunt Maryina Smith said that Candice attempted suicide after learning that her daughters were murdered by her husband.

"I want Tillman to suffer," Smith said. "The way those kids suffered. I want him to suffer," she added.
